Upgraded Features

Rega have packed premium features into the Planar 2, making it an upgrade on the entry level Planar 1. 

The RB220 tonearm combines bespoke zero play ball bearings with a stiffer yet lightweight bearing housing, adjusting the bias automatically for simple installation.  

This upgraded tonearm will extract the maximum amount of information and detail from your vinyl collection, allowing you to listen to your favourite music as the artist intended.

Striking Design

The sleek appearance of Rega’s entry level Planar 1 is elevated in the Planar 2, combining functional high-fidelity performance with a contemporary design suited to the modern home.

Rega have definitely made the Planar 2 a statement piece with their new float glass ‘Optiwhite’ 10mm improved accuracy platter. The elegant glass design means the Planar 2 will look great even when it’s not spinning your favourite record.

The high gloss, acrylic laminated plinth is kept simple, displaying only the RB220 tonearm. The power switch is positioned on the underside of the turntable to ergonomically suit the user and compliment the minimalist look of the turntable.

The Planar 2 is available in your choice of Gloss Black or contrasting Gloss White. 

Simple Setup

Despite this being a premium turntable, the Planar 2 doesn’t suffer from a lengthy set-up process. Designed for plug and play functionality, the Updated automatic bias allows greater flexibility and compatibility with a wide range of cartridges and negates the need to set this yourself, meaning you will simply need to balance the arm.

The Planar 2 doesn’t have a pre-amp inbuilt so you will need to install a pre-amp as part of your set-up if the Amp or Speaker you’re using doesn’t have a phono stage setting.

This gives you the option of choosing a pre-amp to suit your needs and upgrading this as time goes on. We would recommend the award-winning Rega Fono Mini A2D MK2 pre-amp, specially designed to work with these turntables. Or for a more budget option, we recommend the Behringer P400 pre-amp included in our Planar 2 & pre-amp bundle.

How To Use

The Planar range can be connected to a variety of speakers and amplifiers, making it versatile to your needs. 

We love the ease of an active speaker which enables you to access both vinyl and streaming content. We recommend a pair of the Sonos Five wireless speakers with the Planar 2 for superior stereo sound.
