Audioquest Tower 3.5mm to 2 RCA Audio Cable

AudioQuest's Tower cables utilise solid long-grain copper conductors to eliminate the distortion caused by strand interaction. As a result, these cables produce a smoother and clearer sound compared to other cables on the market.  The Noise-Dissipation System ensures complete shield coverage, while the gold-plated terminations are Cold-Welded to prevent heat damage during connection. Ultimately, these cables excel in delivering audio clarity and accurate bass reproduction.

  • Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation System (NDS)
  • Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry
  • Solid Long-Grain Copper Conductors (LGC)
  • Cold-Welded Gold-Plated Terminations
  • Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation

Metal Layer Noise-Dissipation

Achieving complete shield coverage is a straightforward task. To prevent radio-frequency interference (RFI) from affecting the ground reference of the equipment, Audio Quest's Noise-Dissipation is necessary. Conventional shield systems usually absorb and discharge noise/RF energy to the component ground, modulating and distorting the critical "reference" ground plane, which in turn causes a distortion of the signal. However, with Noise-Dissipation, the shielding process goes a step further by absorbing and reflecting the majority of this energy before it reaches the layer attached to the ground

Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry

Tailored specifically for single-ended applications, the Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry is designed to deliver a heightened, more dynamic experience with a lower impedance on the ground. Unlike many single-ended cable designs that employ a single path for both the ground and the shield, the Double-Balanced design opts for a separation of the two, resulting in a superior performance characterised by enhanced purity and reduced noise.

Solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC) Conductors

Solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC) offers an enhanced audio experience compared to cables utilising standard Oxygen-Free High-Conductivity (OFHC) copper. By eliminating strand interaction, solid conductors reduce distortion significantly. The surface quality of the conductor plays a crucial role as it acts as a guiding pathway for both internal electric fields and external magnetic fields. LGC boasts fewer oxide particles, fewer impurities, fewer grain boundaries, and unquestionably superior performance.

Cold-Welded, Gold-Plated Terminations

The design of this plug enables a solder-free connection, eliminating a common cause of distortion. Instead of solder, a high-pressure technique is used in the process. By using stamped ground shells instead of machined ones, the metal used can be chosen for low distortion instead of machinability.

Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation

Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Energy absorption occurs in wire insulation and circuit board materials. These materials store a portion of the absorbed energy and later release it as distortion. Unlike air, which absorbs near to no energy, polyethylene (PE) exhibits low-loss properties and possesses anti-distortive capabilities. Foamed-PE, with its abundant air content, significantly reduces the occurrence of the commonly observed out-of-focus effect compared to other materials.
